
We were honored to provide cuisine for a study and dining event centered on Kawachi lotus root.
2025年1月11日に、浪速魚菜の会主催の「どっぷり河内蓮根ノ会」が催されました。
江戸後期創業、大阪市福島区にあった蓮料理専門料亭「冨竹(とみたけ」。
そのコース料理を資料を元に門真市の中西農園の蓮根で再現しました。
料理は、当店店主の島村と郷土料理研究家の佐野氏が各々担当し、参加者はレンコン農家さんの話を聞きながら当時の浪速の蓮料理を味わっていただきました。
On January 11, 2025, the event “Deep Dive into Kawachi Lotus Root” was held, organized by the Naniwa Fish and Vegetable Society.
The menu was inspired by the course meals once served at Tomitake, a lotus-root specialty restaurant founded in the late Edo period and formerly located in Fukushima Ward, Osaka. Using historical documents as reference, we recreated the dishes with lotus root sourced from Nakanishi Farm in Kadoma City.
The cooking was shared between our chef-owner Masaharu Shimamura and regional cuisine expert Mr. Sano. While enjoying the meal, guests also had the opportunity to hear directly from local lotus root farmers, experiencing firsthand the culinary heritage of lotus cuisine from old Naniwa (Osaka).
